Weavin supports a wide range of AI models from leading providers. You choose which model powers each avatar.

OpenRouter
Through OpenRouter, you can access additional models:
- Kimi K2.5 — Strong multilingual capabilities
- Minimax M2.5 — Efficient general-purpose model
- Step 3.5 Flash — Ultra-fast responses
- Deepseek V3.2 — Excellent for technical and coding tasks
OpenRouter models require a BYOK API key. See API Keys for setup instructions.
Choosing a Model
Consider these factors:

Switching Models
You can change an avatar's model at any time:
- Go to the Avatar Detail page
- Click Edit and select a new model
- Save — the change takes effect immediately
No redeployment is needed. The next message your avatar receives will use the new model.
BYOK vs Built-in
- Built-in proxy: Weavin routes requests through its own API keys. Included in your subscription.
- BYOK: You provide your own API key. Token usage is billed by the provider directly.
When you add a BYOK key for a provider, all of that provider's models become available in the model picker. See API Keys for details.
